RECOGNITION AS AN EFFICIENT ECO COMPANY FROM ECUADOR’S MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT

Five certified projects as green points:

  • Reduced use of fossil fuels (fuel oil) to co-process waste oil.

  • Reduced iron ore consumption for slag exploitation coming from the country’s steel industry.

  • Reduced use of fossil fuels by taking advantage of PKS biomass (African palm kernel shells).

  • Reduced use of electricity consumption to optimize our equipment and processes.

  • Conditioning and reuse of process water for cement production.

RECOGNITION FROM THE UNITED NATIONS GLOBAL PACT FOR GOOD PRACTICES IN SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Two projects with impact on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG):

  • Volante Seguro: SDG 3 – To guarantee a healthy life and promote wellbeing for all ages.

  • Co-processing wastes from other industries: SDG 9 – Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and to promote innovation.

GENERAL RUMIÑAHUI RECOGNITION FROM PICHINCHA DECENTRALIZED AUTONOMOUS GOVERNMENT

Four responsible business management projects:

  • Project for substituting fossil fuels for biomass.

  • Rehabilitation of the Pastaví II quarry.

  • Quinde Project, an innovative alternative for extracting limestone.

  • Industrial Safety Program, Maestro Seguro.

LATIN AMERICA VERDE SAMBITO RECOGNITION AND OTHERS

Projects in the ranking of the 500 Socio – Environmental 2017 best projects:

  • Quinde Project: Modification of the transportation and limestone trituration system, in the responsible production and consumption category.

  • Beekeeping project in the rehabilitation area of the (closed) Pastaví II mining concession, in the forest and flora category.

  • Recirculation of processed water at the Thermal Power Plant, in the water category.

Projects in 500 Socio – Environmental 2018 best projects ranking:

  • Destruction of CFCs gases, in the production and responsible consumption category

  • Co-processing of biomass and used oils, in the solid waste management category.
